{"id":525,"date":"2016-03-18T21:48:58","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T21:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chug.org.uk\/?p=525"},"modified":"2016-03-18T21:52:47","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T21:52:47","slug":"chug-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chug.org.uk\/?p=525","title":{"rendered":"CHUG Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Do you live, work or study near Hackney\u2019s canals?\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Do you have a project to do with the canal or its wildlife\u2014or an idea for one\u2014that needs financial support?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CHUG is looking for local projects to support with grants of up to \u00a32,000. These might be smaller projects that require support in the region of \u00a3200 to \u00a3500, or major projects at the higher end of the scale.<\/p>\n<p>CHUG is particularly interested in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 projects that promote the use and enjoyment of the canals in Hackney<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 projects that support the canal\u2019s wildlife and greenery, and enable it to thrive<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 creative, intelligent and well-organised projects for all ages<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 projects that are collaborative in approach<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 education projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are welcome from all those who live, work or study in Hackney &#8211; including local community groups, schools, individuals or groups of individuals.<\/p>\n<p>CHUG will make the securing and management of grants as simple and straightforward as possible; however, there are certain requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 projects must be completed not more than 12 months from the date of the award<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 funding milestones will be set on a case-by-case basis according to the nature and requirements of the project, with a percentage of the grant to be given at the outset, a percentage on completion and agreed regular amounts to be paid through the project<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 progress will be reviewed at regular intervals throughout the project by two or more members of CHUG<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 written proof of the use of funds will be required, in the form of receipts, reports from the organiser\/s or other as requested by CHUG<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How to apply for a grant.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no deadline for applications, which will be assessed in the order in which they are received.<\/p>\n<p>There is no set format for applications, though each must present the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 name of project<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 brief description: What is it and how would it work?<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 what is it about the project that excites you?<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 how would it impact on the canal and who would benefit most from the project?<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 what is the life of the project? How long would the results last?<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 any imagery that would help illustrate the project and bring it to life for CHUG?<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 outline budget<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 why should CHUG fund the project?<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 would CHUG be the only funder; if not, who else would support the project?
